All six horses must be placed.

A dividend is then paid depending on the number of winning tickets.

Non runners can also play a key role in a decent Placepot return. This is due to the fact any bets placed on non runners are automatically transferred to the favourite. If you get a few races where a couple of the more fancied horses are non runners and the favourite is unplaced, the dividend can be huge.

Particularly good times for Placepot bets are the big meetings such as Royal Ascot and Cheltenham when the pools can reach the £500,000 bracket. Making use of a permutation can give you a better chance of landing a winning Placepot bet but keep in mind the more selections you make the more the bet will cost.
