1000 Guineas

The 1000 Guineas is one of the five British flat Classic races and is open to three year old fillies. The race takes place at Newmarket racecourse once a year, normally around the beginning of May. The prize money is in excess of £300,000.

Newmarket Rowley Mile Course Description

The Newmarket Rowley Mile is a straight course with mild undulations 2 furlongs out. The penultimate furlong is downhill and the last furlong is uphill which creates the so-called Dip. The course is 1mile 2furlongs in distance.
