Tote Jackpot Guide

The Tote Jackpot is one of the most difficult bets to land but is also one of the most rewarding. Just pick 6 horses from the 6 nominated races of the day’s selected Jackpot meeting. Oh, by the way, they all need to win!

The dividend for the Tote Jackpot works the same way as the Tote Placepot and is paid according to the number of winners. As with the Placepot, the less favourites that come in, the bigger the payout is likely to be. You are competing against other punters rather than against the bookmaker so if you go against the crowd you are more likely of a decent payout.

Jackpot Perms

To pick six winners from six selections would take some doing but there is the option of placing a permutation of selections on the Jackpot bet. Jackpot stakes start at just £1 with perms from as little as 10p as long as a minimum of £2 in total is staked.

To work out your number of bets, you multiply the number of selections you have made per race together. For example, if you choose two selections per race your perm would look like this; 2x2x2x2x2x2 = 64 bets. If you did it for 20p, your bet would cost £12.80.

Jackpot Non Runners

Non runners play a big part in the Jackpot bet. Any horses that don’t make it are replaced in your bet by the favourite. If there are a number of non runners and the favourite ends up unplaced, the dividend can increase dramatically. It’s a good idea to keep this in mind when placing your bet and adjust it accordingly.
