Grand National TipsThe 2008 Grand National is almost here and it looks as usual a very competitive field. We have tried to highlight the leading contenders as well as a few juicy outsiders for you to spend your hard earned cash on and hopefully get it back with interest! Cloudy Lane heads the market after three impressive victories this season. He appears well in at the weights on the back of those wins and at 10st 11lbs meets the important weight criteria trend of 11st or less. The only question mark against Cloudy Lane is his effort in last season's Irish Grand National where he disappointed but he is still a worth favourite Back Cloudy Lane at 6/1 with Skybet One runner that's stamina for a trip of this nature is well proven having won over four miles at Newcastle this season is Comply Or Die. He is closely matched on form with Cloudy Lane so looks a bit of value at double the price. The Pipe stable have a cracking record in the big races this season and this one cannot be ignored. Back Comply Or Die at 12/1 with Paddy Power Possibly carrying too much weight to win the race but is sure to be in the places, Simon looks the best each way bet in the field. He was travelling extremely well when falling late on in the 2007 Grand National and he has a bit of class about him. Back Simon at 14/1 with Betfair For those of you wanting a big odds play, you could do worse than Baily Breeze at 66/1. Hailing from the shrewd Mouse Morris stable, this Irish raider may be able to spring a surprise. Back Baily Breeze at 66/1 with Betfair One final tip to leave you with and that's the old boy, Longshanks at 50/1. While it would be a major surprise to see him win at 11 years old, he does have a 100% completion record over the National fences and he could well be plugging on into a place when the others have cried enough.
