Default Cheltenham Festival 2010 Trading Block

Starting off with PIGEON ISLAND who is currently 40-1 for the Arkle at the Coral.

5:20 Perth Sep 23 09

PIGEON ISLAND

40-1 for the Arkle offered by Coral.
Only a 3 horse race here so all he needs to is jump.
Likely to be offered at much lower than 40-1 after this race.
Back and lay possiblity looks very possible.
Useful hurdler getting into Group company and won at Cheltenham as a Novice.
Trainer and jockey is best experienced for this field so it's a good start.

1PT WIN @ 40-1 Coral

To be honest I'm not sure its Arkle price would have shifted much if it had won at such a short price. I like the approach though, I think its early days for the festival, I start looking at the end of October.

To me price don't matter, I was hoping it would jump well. I remember CARRUTHERS in January winning at 2-11 in a 7 horse race Beginners Chase, jumped the 3m110y trip very well and his price was cut by 10s when he won the race. Gotta find me more of those.

Well I'm really liking some horses running on friday and saturday. Was going to do an anti-post bet today on the cesarowitch and arc and cambridgeshire but decided to wait till sunday before placing them.

They are respectivley Alanbrooke 16/1, Youmazin 20/1 and Tiger reigns at 25's.

Kind of e/w prices i like for an e/w lucky 15. So may throw in one of saturdays picks. Any guesses which one?

might be worth having a look at how Sizing Europe gets on in the Punchestown 4:15 another good run over fences could see the 20/1 Arkle price coming in.

another good hurdler goes novice chasing tomorrow, I'm not sure Snap Tie is as good as Sizing Europe but it might be worth a go at 20/1

Great shout on Sizing Europe Richy, into 8/1 with some firms now.

I may just take your advice with Snap Tie

Snap Tie didn't impress the bookies but I'd say it did OK 20/1 is fine with me.

Tomorrow (Exeter 3:10) TATANIANO is really short so it is just as likely to drift as to shorten up for the Arkle if the performance is anything less than sparkling. Probably not worth getting involved because of that.
