2.25 Leopardstown The Lexus Chase.
Statwise we're looking for a horse younger than 9, atleast in the first 3 in a graded race last time out, Must have won in atleast a Grade 2, proven in quality races of atleast 24F, one tick if officially rated 150+ - two ticks if rated 160+.
All of which leaves just WHAT A FRIEND.Only beaten twice over fences, latterly by Denmen in the Hennessey - after which he was made clear fav for the Welsh National but goes in this instead, (Which is just as well as a Hennessey run is the kiss of death for the Chepstow race). 5/1 looks tasty.
Wandered a bit last time going to the last but this shorter trip should be bang up his street.
If there is one to break the stats then its MONEY TRIX. Fails the stats by being a 9yo but he didnt see the track until he was five. Only had 11 races and his record is exemplary 2/1112/1/F21-11. The last 6 runs being over fences.
He doesn't have a chase Grade win to his name either and he's only rated 151, been scoring in Class 2 races, but at 12/1 represents good e/w value. He's been campaigned with this race in mind. Will have a small R/f as well.
good hunting
What A Friend Won 11/2, Money Trix 2nd 14/1
