Epsom Oaks

The Epsom Oaks is one of the five British flat Classic races and is open to three year old fillies. The race takes place at Epsom Downs once a year, normally around the beginning of June and is run over a distance of one mile and four furlongs. The prize money is in excess of £375,000.

Epsom Course Description

Epsom is a left-handed, U-shaped course, steep undulations, 1mile 4furlongs.

Mick Kinane and Kieran Fallon are the most successful Oaks jockeys of the last ten years with five wins between them (Fallon three, Kinane two).

Henry Cecil is the most successful trainer of the last ten years with three winners.

There have been five winning favourites in the last ten years including one joint favourite. In that time there have only been two winners at double figure odds.
