Cheltenham Festival TrendsDay Three The Cheltenham Festival takes place in the middle of March and is undoubtedly the biggest race meeting of the National Hunt season. Betting on the festival races can often be made a whole lot easier and more successful, by using trends to narrow down the selection process. I have tried to compile of record of the most profitable ones here and hope you find them useful come March. Race by race TrendsNovices Handicap ChaseAnother of the new races with a right old touch landed in 2006 by JP McManus with Reveillez. All three winners of this race were 7yos. Ryanair ChaseYes, we have another that's had just the three running's. The Paddy Power Gold Cup may prove a good pointer for this race. World HurdleThe feature race of day three. Look for a horse aged between six and eight. Favourites have a better than average record and hold up horse also tend to do well. A must for this race is a horse that has finished first, second, third or fourth last time out. Racing Post PlateFormerly called The Mildmay of Flete, trainers Pipe and Henderson hold a good record in this event. Nine year olds perform well. Rule out runners not first or second last time out. Look out for French bred runners. Average winning odds are over 20/1 so look for some e/w value. Kim Muir Challenge CupAnother amatuer riders race and a hard one to predict at that with eight winners at double figure odds from the last ten. There has been no Irish winner for the last 25 years. Pertemps Final HandicapThis is a major betting heat with some monster gambles. Avoid five year olds like the plague, six year olds have an outstanding record. Rule out any runners not first or second on its last outing. Nigel Twiston Davies and Jonjo O'Neill both have impressive records. Cheltenham Festival Trends - Day Four
