Cheltenham 2010 – Arkle Chase
The Arkle Challenge Trophy is one of the leading races at the Cheltenham Festival and the race has produced a number of top class winners that have gone on to be victorious at future Festivals. The Arkle Chase is named after the famous Irish Thoroughbred racehorse who won the Cheltenham Gold Cup three times in the 1960s.
With the race often being run at a furious pace, the Arkle winner needs to be a fast and accurate jumper.

2010 Arkle Chase Betting
2010 Arkle Chase
This year’s renewal of the Arkle Chase at Cheltenham is looking like one of the most competitive for a long time. Sizing Europe currently heads the market but is now being challenged for favouritism by the horse that would probably have beaten him in the Bord Na Mona – With Nature Novice Chase had it not been for a last fence fall, Captain Cee Bee. JP Macmanus’ charge won the Supreme Novices Hurdle in 2008 and must hold every chance in the 2010 Arkle as long as that fall has not left any adverse effects.
With Mikael D’Haguenet yet to make his debut over fences, his quote of just 12/1 tells you exactly how weary the bookies are of that particular runner. Another Irish challenger Cousin Vinny was beaten on his chase debut at Navan but he can’t be discounted lightly.
